You All Missed Out
Last Saturday night I heard one pretty good band and two great bands. The West Coast Ramblers opened the show and they played an hour of good old honky tonkin' western swing. They're in the bottom pic.
The top pic is one of, if not my most favorite female singer currently making music, and that's Kim Lenz. This is the third time I've seen her live and each and every time it has been worth whatever hassle I've gone through to see her and Her Jaguars. She also played for about an hour and played a couple of my most favorite songs. If you ever have the chance to see Kim play live in your neck of the woods, don't hesitate. Her web site is here.
Finally, Big Sandy and the Fly Right Boys came to the stage. I forgot to send the crappy pic from my phone, but let me assure you that seeing Big Sandy in the club setting was unforgettable. They have an edgier sound live than on their studio work. They played for over an hour and I was completely satisfied. The $15 admission was the best fifteen dollars I've ever spent in my life. Seeing any one of the bands alone would have been worth the money, but to see all three on the same bill, well, I got my money's worth. Big Sandy's website is here.
